Build log of AxisMod, the modular production platform: decisions, generative engine, configurators, production files. Plus automation and code behind the scenes: Python, workshop scripts, self-hosting, AI agents.

Everyone argues about the logo and the colour. The system behind the face decides flatness, joints, depth, access and most of the price. How the AxisMod fascia module prices that choice.
AxisModDev log ·
A client picks wooden baffles and the rest is called detail. Profile, edge, end caps and perforation are most of the price and all of the acoustics, so module 01 of AxisMod prices them as they are chosen.
AxisModDev log ·
How the AxisMod baffle module turns the suspension system into a priced decision: drop, a counted point grid, a section that agrees with the plan, and why hanging things are measured from the top.
AxisModDev log ·
Real acoustic ceilings are rarely a uniform grid. How module 01 of AxisMod puts an island over reception, an accent row and light only where it is wanted into the schedule instead of a note.
AxisModDev log ·
Estimating is the slow, unpaid part of a signage or fit-out job. What changes commercially when the price, the schedule and the production files come out of one calculation.
AxisModWorkshop ·
How I shoot portfolio and offer screenshots of a finished website without black frames: a headless browser that scrolls before it captures, and ffmpeg for the cropping.
AxisModDev log ·
Most configurators end at a pretty picture and an enquiry form. Module 01 of AxisMod is built the other way round: one configuration, three views, one production pack.
AxisModDev log ·
How the room presets in the AxisMod baffle module let one interior be priced as three different ceilings in a single meeting, and why the furnished 3D preview mattered more than the render quality.
AxisModDev log ·
A ceiling baffle and a shop fascia have almost nothing in common, yet a large part of both AxisMod modules is the same. What that shared layer is, and what it means for a third product.
AxisModDev log ·
How the day and dusk preview in the AxisMod fascia module lets a client choose a letter type by the night effect, what that choice changes in the pack, and why the first night scene lied.
AxisModDev log ·
How the AxisMod fascia module sizes and places a wordmark from the real letter shapes, why the first version got it wrong, and what the client gets in the pack.
AxisModDev log ·
How the AxisMod baffle module turns room dimensions and service cut-outs into a layout, a BOM, a cut list and five production documents, and why the cut-outs were the hard part.
AxisModDev log ·
A chain rollout is not one design copied twenty times. What a rollout module has to hold: one brand rule set across every surveyed site, a pack per site and one chain total that survives a meeting.
AxisModWorkshop ·
How we recorded the AxisMod configurator walkthrough with no camera, microphone or editor: a Playwright script clicks through, injects callouts and a fake cursor, and ffmpeg trims and compresses the result to 2.6 MB.
AxisModDev log ·
How AxisMod splits a long fascia into sheets so that no joint lands on a letter, and why this one shop-floor rule had to become a rule inside the configurator.
